STUVA Conference 2023

Lecture by M.Sc. Michael Schneider

On 8 and 9 November 2023, the STUVA Conference, the international exhibition for tunnel and infrastructure, will take place in Munich. SSF Ingenieure, together with Baugeologisches Büro Bauer and AlpGeoTech, both affiliate companies of the SSF Group, will be represented at the exhibition with a stall. Focus will be on the construction of the three new underground stations on Munich’s second main regional train line.

In the context of the conference’s lecture series, M.Sc. Michael Schneider, project manager at SSF’s department of large-scale projects/special engineering and tunnel construction, will talk about the modernisation of underground train station Sendlinger Tor in Munich. The comprehensive transformation of the over 40-year-old structure into a future-oriented station is implemented while operation is maintained and in very complex conditions. During his lecture, Michael Schneider will explain in detail different measures, such as the expansion of the structure, construction of tunnel connections by ground freezing, use of BIM during design and construction process simulation, collision analysis and as-built comparison by laser scans.
