SSF Ingenieure Award 2018

Julia Hüttmann was awarded for her excellent Bachelor thesis at the Department of Hydromechanics at Technical University Munich

On July 6, 2018, the Department of Civil, Geo and Environmental Engineering of the Technical University Munich celebrated this year’s graduation ceremony. During this event, Helmut Wolf, member of the board at SSF Ingenieure, awarded alumna Julia Hüttmann with the SSF Ingenieure Award 2018.  

 

In her Bachelor thesis, which had been audited by Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Michael Manhart, professorship für Hydromechanics, Julia Hüttmann investigates the turbulent flow around a cylinder. M.Sc. Ulrich Jenssen and Dr.-Ing. Daniel Quosdorf were Julia Hüttmann’s tutors.

 

The thesis stands out due to its excellent scientific quality and thematic relevance, furthermore, Julia Hüttmann demonstrates a broad understanding of the complex topic. Hüttman’s thesis serves as groundwork for further methodical research at the Department and therefore supports quality and success of current research projects.

The award is donated for excellent Bachelor theses at the Department of Civil, Geo and Environmental Engineering, treating subjects from the fields of concrete structures, timber construction and metal construction as well as applied methods from structural analysis and mechanics. The award has a value of €1,500.
