HPC/CIC Tromsø 2017

Dipl.-Ing. Thomas Lechner, project manager at SSF Ingenieure in the field of steel bridges, delivers a lecture on composite girders with UHPC

From the 6th until the 8th of March, the 11th High Performance Concrete (HPC) and the 2nd Concrete Innovation Conference (CIC) will take place in Tromsø, Norway.

From its beginnings, the HPC series has a long and productive history of representing the progress in the field of concrete technology, starting with the first conference in Stavanger, Norway in 1987., 30 years ago. Strongly driven by the necessity to create a higher strength and a better performance of concrete structures, we see today that concrete improved in fact significantly in the last 30 years. Based on today’s concrete quality, the CIC conferences aim at the innovative application of concrete in view of achieving modern and sustainable solutions

In order to emphasise the significance of innovation, a competition is organised to highlight the best innovations in several categories.

SSF Ingenieure will also be represented at the conference in Tromsø.

In the framework of the expert lectures, Mr. Thomas Lechner, project manager at SSF Ingenieure in the field of steel bridges, will report on the load-bearing capacity of “Light composite beams utilizing UHPC and composite dowels”. The principles of this subject have been elaborated in cooperation with the Chair of Concrete and Masonry Structures (Prof. Fischer) and the Chair of Metal Structures (Prof. Mensinger) at the Technical University Munich (TUM).
