BIM and GIS pilot project, illustrated with the upgrade of the A99 motorway ring around Munich

The Authority of Motorways South Bavaria is planning an 8-lane upgrade of the A99 over a length of 18.6 km between the Munich North interchange and the Haar junction. As well as renewing the bridge structures and the superstructure, the plans also include noise protection measures, installation of a noise-reducing road surface and higher noise protection walls. The partner companies in the SSF AG Group and Prof. Schaller UmweltConsult GmbH will work together to test the practical integration of BIM and GIS engineer planning and environmental data. The focus will be on future demands for smooth reciprocal data transfer between engineers, environmental planners and clients to optimize and monitor all necessary structural and environmental aspects already from the start of the planning process throughout project implementation up to completion. The technical solution for data transfer between the BIM and GIS databases is illustrated by this planning and construction project.
