BIM Cooking Class by Engineering Academy Bavaria

Lecture by Dipl-Ing. Thomas Götzinger

In the context of the Engineering Academy, the Bavarian Chamber of Engineers-Civil offers a “BIM cooking class”. In six parts, all relevant information is taught which helps designers to structurally exchange information and effectively collaborate with all project participants through BIM.

On 25/03/2021, the BIM cooking class will take place. Subject is the practical interdisciplinary transfer of BIM data with a special focus on data exchange between systems of different manufacturers. The possibilities of model-based IFC data formats are discussed in depth as opposed to DXF/DWG formats which only allow the exchange of drawings or 3D geometries. Moreover, BIM collaboration methods based on BCF formats are demonstrated and how, in daily practice, they significantly simplify technical coordination within the team and between different teams and guarantee and thus improve design quality.

Thomas Götzinger, deputy head of the architectural engineering department at SSF Ingenieure AG, will be a lecturer at the seminary and discuss interdisciplinary work between architects, technical equipment designers and structural engineers.

Together with Thomas Götzinger, three other experts will talk about the effective collaboration between all project participants through BIM. The entire programme and a link to the application form can be found here.
