In the case of this steel composite bridge, the newly developed VFT-WIB® girders were used for the first time. This construction method combines the cost-effective design of the VFT construction method and the robustness of the WIB construction method. A VFT-WIB® girder consists of two adjacent girder halves, one up to 3.20 m wide concrete flange into which the "puzzle"-shaped concrete dowels bind, and filling concrete between the girders.
