The overpass Halle with a traffic volume of 40,000 vehicles daily is the most important east-west link in the city of Halle. To expand its life cycle the overpass was renovated. SSF Ingenieure signed responsible for project planning and structural engineering of engineering structures, on-site supervision and construction management as well as safety and health coordination.

Renovation works in detail:

- new construction of bridge caps including railings and restraint systems

- partial renewal of superstructure sealing

- maintenance of pedestrian underpass Waisenhausring

- partial renewal of ramp retaining walls

- new construction of retaining wall to secure the dam embankment

- renewal of deck surface incl. gradient compensation

Concrete renovation at retraining walls and abutments:

- preparation of concrete base by removing and cleaning of the weathered and damaged concrete surface

- crack injection

- preparation of exposed reinforcement steel and application of mineral-based corrosion protection

- shotcrete application while simultaneously increasing the concrete deck height - application of fine putty and surface protection OS-C
