For the new Desiro-HC trains, the DB Regio workshop hall in Nuremberg Gostenhof was extended by 35 metres. Now, the 105-metre-long four-part trains fit inside. The conversion comprises three maintenance tracks, one lifting jack track and adaptations at the eastern entry. Despite the narrow construction field and a short design period, operation at the workshop continued during the construction – divided by a dust protection wall.
