More InformationThe railway line Berlin-Dresden was comprehensively expanded to significantly shorten travel times to Dresden and to create a faster connection to BER airport; moreover, track alignment was rearranged in a more efficient way in the area of Blankenfelde-Mahlow.
This resulted in modernised lines for the long-distance rails (6135 and 6151) to Dresden and the Berlin regional train (6035) to Blankenfelde. Several railway bridges now guarantee flawless regional and long-distance transport.
Construction took place in urban zones with densely built-up areas and while railway operation continued.
