- Föhringer ring road is one of the most frequented traffic hubs in the north of Munich – and has long reached its capacity. To reduce congestion and to future-proof the traffic link, the road will be expanded to four lanes on around two kilometres.
- This includes the new construction of several bridges, amongst them two large crossings over Isar river, each 154 metres long. In addition to roads and engineering structures, noise protection measures as well as comprehensive landscaping and species protection projects play a central role.
- During the entire construction period, traffic will keep moving – a particular challenge for designers and builders.
