Innovative construction in detail
- Circularly bent steel arch made of four-cell boxes, tapering in thickness from 0.60 metres to 0.35 metres.
- Radially arranged, 0.30 to 0.36 metre-thick four-cell steel piers.
- Deck slab concreted on 4-metre-wide steel slab with welded T-profiles, which, together with the arch and the piers, creates a stable Vierendeel system.
- Arch thrust transferred into the rock by concrete abutment foundations and linear stainless steel tilting bearings.
