Our subjects are how we’ve been influencing civil engineering for over five decades by innovative power and our enthusiasm for optimum material use and construction methods: Our bridge launching procedure, patented over 30 years ago, (p. 8) remains a “standard method” currently applied. And in 2019: The completion of the first bridge in Germany made of fibre-reinforced high performance concrete (p. 30), a successful example of a highly efficient material combination by modular prefabrication. In terms of digitalisation of design processes, we are at eye level: virtual reality as by-product of BIM-based design processes illustrates clearly the overall design and interfaces as well as the quality of the work.
