Expansion of Polish Highway Network

4-lane expansion of highway S3

The Polish road administration is completing the 4-lane expansion of highway S3 in the west of Poland. The alignment runs from the Baltic seaport Świnoujście in the north to the south Polish village of Lubawak at the Czech border, and thus almost parallel to the German motorways A7 and A9.

The General Road and Highway Directorate GDDKiA in Stettin charged the bidding consortium formed by the four medium-sized construction companies Polbud Pomorze, Intop Warszawa, Intop Skarbimierzyce and PRD Nowogard with design and execution of the 16-km long lot 2 from Dargobądz to Troszyn. In turn, the joint venture commissioned our affiliate office Europrojekt Gdansk S.A. with general planning of the lot.

The highway section comprises three junctions, one maintenance depot, two service stations and several access roads for local traffic, bridges, culverts, noise barriers, drainage and water supply networks. Design and construction started in August this year and completion of the whole construction project is planned for the end of 2023.

The investment amounts to 552 million PLN net, which currently corresponds to around 123 million euros.
