Construction Site Visit of the 2nd Regional Train Main Line

SSF staff visit the large-scale construction at Marienhof

Construction of the second regional train main line is Munich’s largest construction project. The second main line will relieve the regional train network, which is currently at capacity, optimise the regional train network and allow for new traffic concepts. The large-scale project includes three new underground stations. Some of our colleagues visited one of them – construction site Marienhof – to examine live on site the project’s dimensions and the state of the construction.

Alexander Lazarescu, design manager 2nd regional train main line Munich at DB Netz AG, and Felix Cranach, project manager for tunnel engineering at SSF Ingenieure, showed them around the construction site.

SSF Ingenieure is part of an engineering joint venture, which since 2017 has been implementing design optimisation of the three underground stations Central Station, Marienhof and Ostbahnhof on behalf of DB Netz AG.
