A special lettering currently welcomes visitors and locals in Munich not far from Theresienwiese. "I ♥️ M" can be seen in big letters at the platform of station Hackerbrücke on the main line of the Munich regional train. A very special construction material was used: beer crates are the base of the sculpture, which also represents a symbolic bridge between the Oktoberfest and the neighbouring brewery quarter linked to each other by the Hackersteg footbridge.
Idea and design of this unique welcome to Munich is from Peter Bohn + Assoziierte (PBA) in Munich. SSF designed its particular load-bearing structure in such a way that the load-bearing inner construction is almost invisible from outside. Our designers used BIM in order to virtually design all connecting elements of the beer crate sculpture, study assembly processes and calculate special constructions.
