On 10 February 2023, the award ceremony for the Bavarian Engineering Awards 2023 took place at Munich Congress Hall. In total, six engineering companies were nominated. SSF and Lang Hugger Rampp won the award for the Arnulfpark pedestrian bridge in Munich.
“Together with the architects Lang Hugger Rampp we designed a footbridge of experience value, a public space which invites to stay and has been since become an integral part of Munich’s image,” says Peter Radl, head of infrastructure and road planning department at SSF Ingenieure AG. “The combination of considerate construction by incremental launching above the DB railway tracks, the special and unique design and the structural quality, give the structure its distinctive character.”
The Arnulfpark pedestrian bridge
The foot and cycle bridge Arnulfpark crosses 37 railway tracks in front of Munich Central Station and creates a link between the city quarters Nymphenburg-Neuhausen and Westend-Schwanthalerhöhe. The project
