Construction Site Visit

22 colleagues visit the large scale construction site West Bypass Rosenheim

Every day we design structures – but especially our young engineers rarely have the opportunity to experience our large construction sites on location and to see how their design on the screen translates into reality. So, last Thursday, SSF offered its young colleagues the opportunity to visit the construction site West Bypass Rosenheim.

The West bypass intends to alleviate Rosenheim’s centre from long-distance traffic on the highly frequented north-south route. The required bride is divided in two structures. Structure 1 is built as cable-stayed bridge with steel composite pylons, extending over three spans. Structure 2 is a steel composite superstructure, implemented as multi-span, continuous deck bridge made of tightly welded hollow steel boxes.

The group was accompanied to the construction site by two of our colleagues who are responsible for on site construction management and supervision. Before returning to Munich, everybody stopped for dinner at a Bavarian pub.
