The German Steel Construction Prize is one of Germany's oldest architecture prizes and is offered every two years by the registered association BAUEN MIT STAHL e.V.
The architects Foster + Partner and the engineer team SSF Ingenieure / Ingenieurbüro Happold were awarded for the repair of the platform halls and for the basic renewal of the reception building.
The presentation of the award will take place at the Deutscher Stahlbautag (German Steel Construction Day) on 10. October 2008.
At the also awarded BMW Welt in Munich of the architects COOP HIMMELB(L)AU Wolf D. Prix / W. Dreibholz & Partner ZT, SSF Ingenieure was responsible for the execution planning of the building object and supporting structure, including tendering, site guarding, and supporting structure planning.
