Construction Start for City Railway Station Sankt Augustin

On March 28, the city railway station Markt in Sankt Augustin was transferred to the interim platform in order to start demolition of the stop point.

The integral foot and cycle bridge, designed in the Cologne office, is implemented in reinforced concrete with ramps, stairs and elevators. The platforms with their entire equipment are also completely renewed and the existing structure is removed. The prefabricated superstructure above the city railway will be placed this summer. At the moment the foundations and the rising trough walls are built. SSF Cologne’s scope of services comprises the revision of draft design, final design and call for tenders. Construction works will be finished at the end of 2014. A barrier-free bridge over the city railway will then lead passengers to the new shopping centre, which is currently under construction.
