We are nominated: German Bridge Engineering Award 2025

Elisabeth Bridge in Halle (Saale) amongst the finalists
We are happy to announce that Elisabeth Bridge in Halle/Saale has been nominated for the German Bridge Engineering Award 2025 as one of the three best projects in the category road and railway bridges.
The inner-urban bridge connects the old and new city quarters in Halle via a 2-tracked tramway line also including a spacious pedestrian and cyclist bridge, as well as holding numerous supply lines. Within only 15 months the replacement structure was entirely completed by modular VTR® construction method – a SSF invention featuring high serial prefabrication, and was also opened for traffic in this time frame. The result is notable: execution in record time, highest quality of prefabrication at the plant and a masterpiece of on-site craftsmanship. The modular, robust and fast construction approach sets a successful example for future renewal projects of transport infrastructure.
The German Bridge Engineering Award is granted by the Federal Chamber of Engineers (BIngK) and the Association of Consulting Engineers (VBI) and is amongst the most important honours in the construction industry. The award ceremony will take place on 19 March 2025 in Dresden – the eve of the 34th Dresdner Bridge Engineering Symposium.
A huge thanks to all our colleagues at our Halle offices who worked on this project with skill and competence, commitment and persistence; as well as to Victor Schmitt, member of the supervisory board and co-founder of SSF Ingenieure, as idea-giver and innovator.
The nomination for the German Bridge Engineering Award 2025 is a shared success and confirms that thinking ahead pays.
We keep our fingers crossed and wait in suspense for the award ceremony.
