Successful Bridge Transport

Stern Bridge reaches its destination

The new construction of Hamburg Stern Bridge has reached another important milestone: The around 108-metre-long and around 3,700-tonne-heavy steel superstructure has successfully been transported and placed at its future location.

For this project, SSF signs responsible for final design of the substructures as well as the design of all temporary constructions and thus supports an essential part of the structural implementations.

With special heavy-load technology the steel superstructure travelled around 600 metres – from its assembly site to the intersection Stresemannstraße/Max-Brauer-Allee. The transport necessitated precise preparation, detailed planning and close collaboration between project participants. Despite the enormous dimensions, the transport went as planned and is another important step towards the completion of the new Stern Bridge.
