Progress at Motorway A143

29. July 2026

Works at Saale Bridge and noise protection tunnel are steadily advancing

At the A143 construction site, the west bypass of Halle, works are progressing on schedule. Currently, construction concentrates on the noise protection tunnel where in a biweekly rhythm an around ten-metre-long tunnel section is concreted.

The Saale Bridge is also visibly advancing: After the 130-metre-long steel river bridge has been successfully launched into its final position in July 2025, by now the deck slabs have been concreted. Currently, the gap between the river bridge and foreland bridge is constructed. At the same time, the river bridge is being connected to the tunnel portal.

SSF, as part of an engineering joint venture, is providing construction supervision for construction lots 4.1 and 4.2. Our services comprise the Saale Bridge including river bridge and foreland bridge, noise protection tunnel as well as the glass enclosure of the river bridge.

The A143 will close an important gap of the motorway bypass around Halle and Leipzig. After its completion, it will manage trans-regional traffic and significantly relief the city of Halle from through-traffic.

We are happy to contribute with construction supervision to the successful progress of this important infrastructure project.
