Participation at IABMAS

From 6 to 10 July 2026, the 13th conference of the International Association for Bridge Maintenance and Safety took place in Orlando, Florida (IABMAS 2026) under the motto “Moving toward smart, resilient and sustainable bridges”. Around 650 experts, scientists and bridge operators from all over the world came together to discuss recent developments and innovative approaches in the field of bridge management, maintenance and safety.

SSF was also there: Edward Petzek, director of our partner company SSF-RO, attended the conference and headed two meetings on the subject “Bridge management: Construction and operation of projects”. He moderated the exchange between lecturers and the international audience.

Moreover, Edward Petzek presented two lectures:

• „Development of Effective Innovative Designs for Composite Bridges in Romania”
• „Assessment Criteria for Existing and New Bridges: Case Studies in Romania”

Both contributions rely on SSF’s many years of practical experience and were supported by the academic collaboration with Timișoara Polytechnical University. The combination of engineering practices and academic research forms the basis for presented solutions and case studies. The lectures were highly acclaimed during discussions and commentaries.
