600-tonne-heavy railway bridge moved to its final position
A special moment at the construction site in Königswinter: The new railway bridge at Drachenfelsstrasse has successfully been launched into its final position. The around 600-tonne-heavy concrete structure travelled 22 metres on a specially prepared launching track.
The bridge structure had already been prefabricated since the beginning of the year next to the installation location. During a close-off period of the railway line on the right side of the Rhine the construction pit was opened and the launch of the completed bridge carried out. The structure was lifted by hydraulic cylinders and subsequently moved into its final position in a controlled manner.
SSF Ingenieure has been contracted for construction supervision of the project. The successful launch marks a significant progress at the construction and is a demonstration of successful collaboration between all project participants.
