New Project Underground U5 in Hamburg

SSF Ingenieure together with GeoConsult in Vienna has obtained to contract to produce tender documents for a section of Hamburg’s underground line U5.
We are looking forward to contributing our know-how in the field of urban infrastructure as well as our comprehensive experience in underground railway construction to this exiting project.

As general planner, we’ll be responsible for the coordination of all design steps – from tender design to structural engineering and even technical building equipment. Such inner-urban large-scale projects require deep technological knowledge and innovative approaches. An ideal project to optimally apply our BIM know-how in view of seamlessly integrating design and implementation.

The project comprises a 2.3-kilometre-long section which involves the construction of two new stations as well as the connection to the existing underground network. A particular challenge is the construction of a new underground railway underneath lively city quarters and the associated concern for the construction site’s surroundings.

We are looking forward to the next steps and to sustainably improve Hamburg’s mobility.
