German Bridge Engineering Award 2025

20. March 2025
Elisabeth Bridge amongst finalists
On 19 March, the Bridge Engineering Award 2025 was presented in Dresden. We were nominated in the category road and railway bridges with our design of the new construction of Elisabeth Bridge in Halle (Saale). Oder Bridge Küstrin won the category.
In the field of pedestrian and cycle bridges, the award goes to Bastionskronenpfad Petersberg, Erfurt.
We congratulate all the winners and nominees. We were happy to participate at the award ceremony and to be amongst the finalists with Elisabeth Bridge Halle (Saale).
Within 15 months, Elisabeth Bridge was entirely built by modular VTR® construction method – a SSF development featuring a high degree of serial prefabrication – and put into operation. The result is remarkable: implementation in record time, highest prefabrication quality at the plant and a masterpiece of craftmanship on site. The modular, robust and fast construction approach sets a successful example for future replacements of transport infrastructure.
The German Bridge Engineering Award is granted by the Federal Chamber of Engineers and the German Association of Consulting Engineers and honours extraordinary performance of bridge engineers. The award is presented every two years in two categories: pedestrian and cycle bridges as well as road and railway bridges.
