Expansion of Our Berlin Offices
12. May 2026
Historical ground floor revitalised
At the beginning of May 2026, SSF Berlin expanded its offices: The ground floor of the rear building at Schönhauser Allee 149 was opened after comprehensive remodelling to address the rapid growth of this location and to create new working space.
The old factory building from the late years of industrialisation (1910) is a remarkable example of industrial architecture. Until today, the open skeleton structure with riveted steel supports, coated bricks and clear structural principles gives a special character to the building.
The careful remodelling put a sensitive handling of the historic structure at its centre. The goal was to maintain the architectural quality of the building and, at the same time, to create a contemporary, flexible work environment.
Additional office space was created, a meeting room as well as spacious common and social areas. At the centre of the new areas is an open-plan kitchen with adjoining space for flexible use which can serve as meeting area during working days. The new spaces are mostly used by our building department and offer numerous possibilities for collaboration and discussions.
The expansion strengthens our Berlin location and creates room for more growth as well as new forms of collaboration.
The opening took place during our “Failing and learning – an evening of experiences”, where several colleagues talked about failing at work and the lessons learned. After the discussions, together with visitors from our branches in Halle, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Munich we toasted to a successful future with interesting projects.
