Project award in Egypt

SSF International GmbH has been contracted for developer assistance and construction supervision for an important railway project in Egypt.

The project comprises the construction of a 63.5-km-long railway line, connecting the station Rubeiky to Belbeis, and thus developing access to important industrial sites as well as the dry port in the city 10th of Ramadan

Scope of construction works: Development of a new railway line between Rubeiky and Belbeis including stations some new constructions, some renovations

• Track installations;
• Signalling systems (including control centre and backup control centre);
• Telecommunications system;
• Electricity supply;
• Cabling;
• Construction measures related to technical buildings for signalling, telecommunications and electricity technology.

In addition to the construction works, the project comprises all necessary design services, test runs and initial operation as well as a five year warranty period.

Scope of services:

• Support for the formation of a project implementation team by the developer (PIU), including its setup, stipulation of procedures for the operations and project and finance management, assessment of personnel training needs, implementation of trainings
• Supervision of construction works
• Support for the compliance with regulations and reporting requirements as per the financing documents of EBRD and AFD, including credit lending regulations and practices
• Support for the implementation of environmental and social standards

Project focus: Modern control and safety technology (SIL4), expansion of infrastructure as well as capacity increase
